Data Analysis

There are many websites available that allow teachers to conduct surveys in their classrooms, poll student opinions on a topic, and allow students to answer questions using a game show clicker. Each allows students to become active participants of the lesson. This is especially good for students who are quiet and may not always participate. Students need to become familiar with speaking regularly in class but these tools are fun to use a few times throughout the year.

Poll everywhere: This website allows a teacher to post a question and students can respond via text message. I have created a poll as an example which can be viewed from the link below.

Survey Monkey: This is a website that allows students to go onto the site and take a survey of questions. This is also a great way to survey parents on back to school night. Visit the link below to see my survey for back to school night.

CPS: This is the system that allows students to answer using a game show clicker. Once all students have answered the teacher can print off all answers in a spread sheet and view which students are still struggling. This is a great way to conduct a pre-assessment.
